A suspect concerned in an altercation that resulted in an Arizona police officer being “fatally shot” has been killed after stealing the cop’s car and main legislation enforcement on a pursuit, authorities say.
The incident unfolded Thursday night time after a White Mountain Apache Police Officer performed a traffic cease in Whiteriver, east of Phoenix, in accordance with the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office.
“An altercation occurred between the officer and the individual working the car,” the sheriff’s workplace mentioned in an announcement. “During the altercation, the officer was fatally shot.”
Police say the suspect then “took the officer’s police car and fled the scene with White Mountain Apache Police Officers in pursuit.”
