President Biden on Friday introduced his administration had secured 33 million bottles of protected toddler formula from Nestlé. In an announcement through Twitter, the president shared that, “over 127 million bottles of protected toddler formula are heading to U.S. cabinets as quickly as potential.”
The announcement comes amid a baby formula scarcity stemming from a Michigan plant closing over contamination issues.
The Biden Administration has taken different actions in response to the scarcity, together with invoking the Defense Production Act, making a consent agree with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to reopen Abbott Nutrition facility, and issuing FDA steerage to import formula that isn’t being produced within the United States.
On Thursday, the White House launched a brand new web site that tracks the actions the administration is taking to get more baby formula to cabinets. The administration had beforehand launched Operation Fly Formula Mission, to airlift formula from Europe and Australia to additional fight the scarcity.

The administration introduced a 3rd and fourth wave of the Operation Fly Formula Mission that can start delivery formula subsequent week. Federally chartered planes are bringing thousands and thousands of bottles of the favored United Kingdom model, Kendamil. In addition to Kendamil, the airlift will import a number of million models of Bubs Australia formula.
