SPRINGFIELD, Va. (AP) — A northern Virginia police officer fatally shot a coyote suspected of biting a number of individuals after the animal additionally attacked him, authorities stated Sunday.
The Fairfax County officer was looking out a wooded space for the coyote, which had reportedly bitten three individuals within the neighborhood a day earlier.
The coyote bit the officer, who fired his gun to finish the assault, the division tweeted. The animal was discovered lifeless close by, and the officer was taken to a hospital for remedy.
On Saturday, the division had introduced it was investigating a report of three individuals being bitten by a coyote at a park in Springfield. None of the three had life-threatening accidents, the division stated.
In a discover issued Saturday night, county officers stated they believed the coyote had rabies, in line with WTOP.
